The shared-layer conflict fence (#795) reaches the release notes beside the
QConnect fixes it belongs with, and the README contributor list gains its line.

The human who signs a commit is its author and is responsible for it. Models
are disclosed in the PR body and never added as co-authors, because credit
without accountability is worth nothing: an agent cannot answer a review
comment six months from now.
Spells out what that means for the three things contributors send. Findings
are welcome verified or not, as long as the report says plainly what was
observed and what was not reproduced. Fixes must be verified by the person
sending them, with what they ran and what they saw. A generated code review is
not a review: submitting an unfiltered list moves the work of separating real
from imaginary onto the maintainer.

Add shared playback memory profiles, bounded disk-backed playback and storage
selection for desktop and daemon. Preserve gapless during streaming-only playback
and provide explicit cache eviction with playback confirmation.
Stop watcher read events and unchanged scans from rebuilding the local catalog.
Restore playlist/sidebar updates, folder availability feedback and player layout.
Add appearance presets and a radio-based cache settings panel with translated
trade-offs, plus consistent clipboard menus across visible Qt text editors.
Validate with Rust regressions, QML interaction tests, isolated release startup
and idle-library checks; extend the shared local and CI gates.
cx
Support Flatpak portal updates and signed Windows MSI upgrades. Add the Linux/macOS installer for 2.1.2, release signing, translations and regression coverage.
cx
Keep queue edits from resetting the playback clock, preserve Play next and Play later batches, and report observed renderer state and owned output telemetry. Guard duplicate-track gapless transitions by queue occurrence.
cx
Add the Windows experimental badge and source build prerequisites for Arch, Gentoo, NixOS and Windows. Clarify how to build against an installed Windows Qt SDK and invite help with documentation.
cx
Translate the project statement, document the implemented offline grace window, and link the bundled DST provenance and license notices. Align the release codename, ARM64 requirements and AppStream date.
cx
Codename becomes 'Rebuild Q (You Can (Not) Redo)'. The contributor list
gains the ten people whose work shipped since the last sweep — merged
PRs (b0bbywan, Ronjar, eldios, herder, PhilipVinc, Mazipani) and the
house rule for adopted work without a merge (pbaart's Dutch locale,
stshow's DLNA strict-renderer handling, RayneGit's Wayland clipboard
feature flag, LuckyTheCoder's Liquid Glass icon from issue #712) — and
the README list is now identical to the modal's.
New Sponsors section: public GitHub sponsors (linked chips) then Ko-fi
supporters by their public display names, in a fixed three-row strip
that scrolls itself, closed by the translated anonymous-sponsors line.
The panel grows to 920x860 and the modal now eats the wheel on scrim
and panel.

Decided 2026-08-29: the arm64 Qt build only works on ubuntu-24.04-arm
(aqt's arm64 host tools segfault on 22.04-arm), so the arm64 desktop
app requires glibc 2.39; qbzd keeps building on 22.04-arm at 2.35 so a
trimmed Pi OS bookworm image stays a valid target. The floor gate asserts
per arch instead of warning; README states both floors.
cc
Settings > Integrations > PRIVACY: a Listening history toggle (default
ON; the state lives in the per-user listen_meta, so it follows the
account) and a confirmed Clear (DELETE + VACUUM). Strings in all eight
catalogs; README names where the data lives.
ScrobblerSettings::history_read_allowed(service) = *_active(): the
scrobbling switch now governs reading a service's history for
Recommendations as well as sending to it, and its Settings text says
so. recommendations_qt uses it instead of *_is_authed().
cc
Preserve attribution for PR #678 after its solution was superseded by the current crate-local implementation. Make the About grouping test grow with the contributor list.
cx
Keep official upstream releases and Gatekeeper guidance as the primary route. Present Afonso’s notarized Homebrew cask and DMGs as an independent community alternative with explicit provenance and endorsement boundaries.
cx
The previous README described the Slint build: the memory wall, the
slint-*.sh dev loops, nightly + mold, a Debian dependency list without
Qt, seven locales, the wgpu/femtovg renderer table. All of it is
replaced with the Qt reality: cxx-qt, Qt 6.8 floor with private
headers, scripts/qt-run.sh, the measured build times, the real
QBZ_RENDERER semantics. Adds what shipped since: Jellyfin, Subsonic,
CD/SACD playback and ripping, the metadata editor, the playlist
manager. Adds a table of contents, a "Reporting a problem" section
(Settings > Share logs), the LLM/AI tools statement, the multichannel
DSD known issue, and corrects the Flatpak bit-perfect note (it works;
one device-reservation grant, shown in Settings > Flatpak).
cc
Adds an event-hook facility for headless integrators (moOde, Volumio,
DIY audio boxes): 'qbzd settings set hooks.script /path/to/script' (or
the QBZD_HOOK env var) names an executable the daemon forks once per
daemon event with the event described in QBZ_* environment variables --
the same push-integration contract pleezer (--hook) and shairport-sync
(run_this_...) established, so a box can stop its local player when a
Qobuz Connect session starts and restore state when it ends, without
keeping a poller or SSE client alive.
Getting there required closing a gap on the CoreEvent bus: the playback
variants (TrackStarted, PlaybackStateChanged, PositionUpdated,
VolumeChanged) were defined and consumed -- mpris.rs keeps its widget
fresh from them, scrobble_engine.rs times scrobbles by them -- but
nothing ever emitted them, so those consumer arms were dead and
/api/events (SSE) / 'qbzd watch' carried no playback traffic. A new
events_bridge task wakes on the driver's existing ReportEdge pulse
(plus a 2 s poll fallback for track-id-clearing stops), dedups against
what it last published, and sends the deltas to the bus. This revives
live MPRIS updates and scrobble timing as a side effect.
Also emitted now: QconnectSessionChanged (new CoreEvent variant) from
the qconnect lifecycle latches -- off/connecting/connected/retrying/
exhausted -- and PlaybackError from the driver's stream-error latch, so
integrators can react to a busy audio device at play time.
The hook dispatcher never waits for the script inside the recv loop
(each event forks detached, a reaper task collects the exit status) and
the LoggedIn session payload (auth token) is never forwarded to child
environments. hooks.script validates as absolute-or-empty; the setting
lives in daemon_prefs.json and is deliberately NOT part of the settings
bundle (a machine-local path).

Aligns the README with the wiki and website: QBZ exists to give Linux users the
Qobuz client they deserve, and is explicitly not a web wrapper and not a
download tool. Keeps the technical native-pipeline explanation below it.
Promote the headless daemon to its own section with a screenshot and the
wiki link, add a Kiosk Mode section for Raspberry screens and handheld
consoles, remove the mermaid architecture diagram and the star-history
chart.

Verified empirically against the pre-flight artifact (objdump shows
GLIBC_2.39 as the highest versioned symbol — the ubuntu-24.04 runner's
libc). Fedora needs 40+ accordingly; the Ubuntu/Debian guidance was
already right.
cc
Recent macOS (Sequoia+) dropped the right-click Open bypass for
un-notarized apps, so the section now walks both unlock paths: the
Privacy & Security 'Open Anyway' route and the xattr quarantine
removal command, with a plain explanation of what each does.
cc
Documents the Slint memory wall properly: the per-knob guard table,
a CI-proven low-RAM recipe for machines under 32 GB, the auto-tiering
scripts/slint-run.sh (FAST/SAFE/MIN) and the two development loops
(release-perf slint-dev.sh vs fast-debug slint-dev-fast.sh, plus the
macOS counterpart). Fixes the toolchain claim (scripts need nightly
for -Z threads; plain stable cargo build works), adds macOS build
prerequisites, and records the DSD direct-mode seek/volume limitation
under known issues.

qbzd was a premature daemon experiment that never shipped (gated off
behind QBZD_ENABLED, no user access). Its ratatui 0.29 dependency pinned
unicode-width =0.2.0, which conflicts with slint's annotate-snippets in a
shared workspace. Remove it entirely; it will be reimplemented from
scratch later on the clean, UI-agnostic shell.
- Delete crates/qbzd daemon crate + workspace member (drops ratatui,
crossterm and the other qbzd-only deps from the lock).
- Delete src-tauri qbzd_discovery (mDNS) + its commands/state wiring in
lib.rs; drop the direct mdns-sd dep (Chromecast keeps its own via
qbz-cast).
- Delete remoteApi/remoteEvents/playbackTargetStore; neutralize
commandRouter to local-only dispatch (isRemote/skipIfRemote are now
always-false no-ops so the ~100 guard call-sites keep compiling).
- Strip qbzd branches from playbackService and the remote banner from
NowPlayingBar; excise qbzd from CastPicker (Chromecast/DLNA kept).
- Remove qbzd i18n keys (5 locales), README daemon node, gitignore note.
cargo check (crates + src-tauri) and svelte-check all green.

Version bumped across Cargo.toml, tauri.conf.json, package.json, snapcraft.yaml (version + source-tag), flake.nix, and the lockfiles. metainfo.xml gains a 1.2.13 release entry, the About modal codename becomes "400+ stars", and the README contributors list adds @Vudgekek and @DoubleGate.

.env.example is now a placeholder pointing to the hosted Cloudflare
Workers proxy. README updates the API Proxy section accordingly and
.gitignore adds CLAUDE.md and AGENTS.md.

AirPlay was scaffolded in both crates/qbz-cast/src/airplay and
src-tauri/src/cast/airplay but never worked at runtime: the RAOP
sender required an Apple MFi-licensed stack with no free/open
alternative, and the backend state was already disabled via the
commented `.manage(airplay_state)` line in src-tauri/src/lib.rs.
The CastPicker UI already hid the AirPlay tab pending streaming
support that was never going to ship.
Delete:
- crates/qbz-cast/src/airplay/ (entire directory)
- src-tauri/src/cast/airplay/ (entire directory)
- 10x v2_airplay_* commands from commands_v2/library.rs + their
tauri::generate_handler entries
- AirPlayError from qbz-cast errors
- 'airplay' from CastProtocol + every case arm in castStore.ts,
CastPicker.svelte, AudioOutputBadges.svelte
- Corresponding i18n keys if present
Zero behavior change for Chromecast / DLNA / QConnect / MPRIS. If
AirPlay ever becomes feasible we'll revisit from scratch with a
real streaming backend.
